How do I know if my Passport member benefit is activated?
To confirm that you have activated your Passport account, go to http://www.pbs.org/, change your local station if it is not showing, and sign in as you did during activation. If Passport is activated properly, you will see a small blue and white compass rose symbol by your name in the upper left portion of the screen. The PBS Passport activation code was not in the email I received.
If you did not receive an activation code, please contact your local station. They can send you an activation link or code. You may be already activated. To confirm that you have activated your Passport account, go to http://www.pbs.org/ and sign in to the site with the same email address you used when you activated your account. If Passport is activated, you will see a small blue and white compass rose symbol next to your name in the upper left corner of the screen. As you search or browse the site, any video bearing that same blue and white compass rose symbol is a designated Passport video.     Related topics: What is PBS Passport? Does Passport cost anything? I got a message to activate PBS Passport. Do I have to activate it in order to watch PBS videos?
You must activate Passport in order to watch the video that displays the PBS Passport message. You can still watch hundreds of hours of quality public television shows on your computer, smartphone and tablet without it. PBS Passport is simply an additional member benefit that offers eligible station donors extended on-demand access to a library of videos. It is entirely up to you whether or not you wish to activate PBS Passport. You will encounter a message asking if you want to activate PBS Passport every time you come to a video whose free streaming rights have expired. PBS Passport allows eligible members to watch some expired or archival content.  If you want to learn more about accessing the PBS Passport benefit, contact your local station or read more about it in our FAQs: http://help.pbs.org/support/home. I made a donation but did not receive an email with an activation code.
Please begin by checking your email spam folder. If the email is not there, please contact your local station or view this list of possible reasons.  Be sure you are checking the same email account you used when you registered for PBS Passport. Also, please note that after you donate, it can take up to two business days to receive your activation code. Please keep in mind that often if you are already on PBS.org and you clicked a link to activate your Passport membership, no other action is required.  To confirm that you have activated your Passport account, go to http://www.pbs.org/, change your local station if it is not showing, and sign in as you did during activation. If your Passport is activated properly, you will see a small blue and white compass rose symbol by your name in the upper left portion of the screen. When you search through the site, any video bearing that same blue and white compass rose symbol are videos available to Passport members.   Related topics: What is PBS Passport? I believe I am already a member. How can I check?
To see if your PBS Passport membership has been activated, please click the following link and follow the instructions: http://www.pbs.org/passport/lookup/.    Be sure to use the same email address you used when you signed up for PBS Passport. If your email address is in our system, you will come to a screen that displays: A confirmation that you have activated (a). A link to PBS.org where you can sign in (b). Member status for any additional accounts you may have (c). If you see that an activation link has been emailed to you (d), be sure to check your spam folder to see if the email was inadvertently delivered there. Also, be sure you are checking the correct email account; the email account you used when registering for Passport.   Related topics: What is PBS Passport? Does Passport cost anything? How do I activate PBS Passport on my Apple TV?
Once you have activated your PBS Passport account, follow the steps below to link your Passport account to your Apple TV. When you have the PBS app open on your Apple TV, click Settings located at the top of the screen. Click Deactivate located at the bottom of the screen. Exit the app and return to your main Apple TV screen. This gives the PBS app time to reset and deactivate itself. Click the PBS app icon to enter the PBS app again.  A screen indicating the app needs to be activated appears.  Activation instructions are displayed on the screen along with a 7-character activation code. Go to your computer and open a browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. In the address bar, type http://pbs.org/activate.   Enter the seven-character activation code in the textbox provided. This is NOT your Passport activation code. Click Continue. You are taken to a new page asking you to sign in with a Google, Facebook, or PBS account.  Choose the same account you used when you activated Passport. If you sign in with a different email address, you will not be signed in with your Passport account and will be unable to watch Passport videos. Return to your Apple TV. It has been automatically updated and you can begin watching Passport videos. Related topics: What is PBS Passport? Does Passport cost anything?
