The PBS app is available on Samsung Smart TV models released as early as 2017. If you have already tried to download the PBS app on your Samsung Smart TV, but are unable to find the app in the Apps section of your Samsung Smart TV, we likely do not support your Samsung Smart TV model. To see if the app is available on your Samsung Smart TV, please check your Samsung Smart TV model number. The PBS app is available for download on Samsung Smart TV for 2017 models and newer. The app is free to download and use and requires no activation fee. In order to download the app, you'll need to create or sign in with your Samsung account. If you do not have a Samsung account or need help signing in to your Samsung account, please click this link to visit Samsung's website. TABLE OF CONTENTS Downloading the PBS App Activating the PBS App Downloading the PBS App First, return to your Smart TV's Home menu by selecting the Home button on your remote. Using your remote's arrow buttons, highlight the Apps option on your Samsung Smart TV's Home screen. Select the Apps option. If you have a newer Samsung TV model, your Samsung Smart Hub may look like the image below instead. Select the magnifying glass icon on the left to search the Samsung Smart Hub, or select APPS along the middle row to open the apps menu on your smart hub. Using your remote's arrow buttons again, highlight the magnifying glass icon or search feature within your Smart TV's Apps screen. Select this option. Use the Search feature to search Samsung's available app offerings for "PBS" and look for the official PBS app. Select the PBS app icon. Unable to find the PBS app? Your device may not support the app - click here to learn more. An option to Install the app will appear in the center of the screen. Select this option. The app will begin installing to your Samsung Smart TV. When the download completes, you will have the option to Open the app from this screen, and you can also open the app in the future from your Home menu, where it will be listed with your other apps. Activating the PBS App When you first open the PBS app, a screen will appear prompting you to activate the PBS app. Select Activate Now. Activation instructions will appear on the screen along with a 7-character, alphanumeric activation code.  Every device has its own unique code, so double-check your device's code before proceeding. For Step 1, you will need to use a mobile device or computer to visit PBS.org/activate or use your smartphone's camera to scan the QR code on the TV screen to be taken directly to PBS.org/activate. Enter your unique code listed in Step 2 into the Activation Code box on PBS.org/activate. Select Continue. You will then be prompted to sign in with a PBS account or through Google, Facebook, or Apple. If you have the PBS Passport benefit, sign in with the same account you originally linked to your Passport benefit. If you do not have one of these account options, select Not registered yet? Return to your Samsung Smart TV's PBS app. The screen will update to show the app's Home screen where you can begin exploring and viewing our available offerings. We're still working on bringing the local station livestream to the PBS app on Samsung Smart TVs, and right now we don't have a specific release date for this feature.
